I was at E3!!! Here are some HOT PICS from the conference, and also some of the nice places I saw in LA.
No big deal, but… http://www.indiecade.com/2013/E3_Games_2013/ Perfection. was selected by IndieCade to be showcased at E3! I’ll be among 20 developers repping indie games in the heart of the biggest game convention in the world. 🙂 …Okay, it’s kind of a big deal!
Perfection has otherwise been doing alright. I’ve enjoyed reading many of the reviews coming in, good and bad–I think the game really spoke to some people, and offended others, and I’m proud of both. There’s a listing of reviews on the website.
Get it here! http://perfectiongame.net/
Hey guys! Only TWO days until Perfection comes out.
But have I mentioned that the game’s soundtrack is amazing, composed by Omni-Psyence? Because it is, and with the game he’ll also be launching his bandcamp for the first time with the full game soundtrack, for free! Plus some extra surprises… 😉
And just in case you missed it, here’s the trailer for the game again. See you guys in 2!
Perfection. is coming to PC, Mac, Linux, iOS AND Android–next Wednesday, May 8.
😉 It’s gonna be awesome.
As a quick follow-up to the previous post, I wrote a postmortem for Sling It which you can read on Gamasutra. In typical postmortem fashion, I talk about what worked and what didn’t work in the game’s development; it might be informative to you, particularly the bits where I try to analyze why the game hasn’t been successful for me.
Sling It!’s price has dropped on PC, the app Store and on Google Play — permanently. This is in the wake of what’s been extremely weak sales. If you’ve been on the fence on checking it out, I’d say now’s the time!
For a minimum price of 1.99 you get Phantasmaburbia as well as a handful of other games. Holy cow, the savings are just AMAZING. Get it while it’s here!!
One of the Sling It! musicians talked to me about why I make games and my relationship with game music. You can read the whole thing over here. It was a lot of fun!
Sling It!, in case you missed it, is my newest game which came out for mobile phones and PC last week. So far it seems pretty universally loved! It’s close to making back all the money I spent on new software and developer licenses to publish, but not any more than that yet. I’m still looking to get more full reviews and stuff out there. If you’re a member of the press and you want to check it out, you can always contact me.
Hoorah! Check out the website for all the good links and deets.
Hi guys! My new game Sling It! is coming out to iPhone, Android and PC on Monday. Here’s the site!
And here’s a trailer!
edit: Mac doesn’t work! To get it on Android, you need to put the .apk on your phone–email or dropbox are the easiest ways, or it may work if you just download the above link on your phone browser.
It’s a simple-but-nifty puzzle game about cutting shapes. The shapes are randomly generated, so the game can go forever.
Games I’ve made for classes have been historically hit-or-miss, since it’s so reliant on conditions at least partially outside of my control like the team I’m with and the ability of the group to plan well for the scope of the class. But this is one I’m really happy with, for a class I’m actually pretty excited about being in! Mostly, I guess, because its focus is on small teams making very small games with emphasis on strong game design over production values. This particular game I made by myself in about a day, with some polish and smoothing done intermittently on a 2nd day. I’m planning to possibly come back to this game for a more full-featured mobile release after I get Sling It! out.
I’m working on a new game which is actually kind of like an old game.
Until January 2, 2013, Phantasmaburbia will be available for a third of its usual price. Holy cow!! If you know about the game and have been on he fence about getting it because of price, NOW IS THE TIME TO GET IT.
I’m still working on the Mac port; I’ve had a number of technical issues along the way, but it *is* still coming. Just slower than I want! I mention this here because when it is done you will have access to it if you’ve already bought the game, so if you’re waiting for the game to come out on Mac it’s still a pretty good steal right now!
That’s all for now! Happy Holidays!
We recently passed the 2-week anniversary of when Phantasmaburbia came out. Yippee! I’m just now stating to feel like I’ve fixed all of the game bugs :} Sales haven’t been doing super great, so I’m *extending* the launch sale to November 24, because I can! Some big sites only recently posted about us, so I also think it’s fair to give some chance to those who are still only just discovering us.

Yesterday I went on an adventure with super cool lady Michaela, exploring the abandoned and overgrown grounds of Lynnewood Hall. It’s a 40 acre plot of mostly ivy and trees and overgrown grass, but deep in the thicket there’s a massive mansion and a couple caretaker buildings too. HERE ARE SOME RAD PHOTOS.
I’ve written a bit about my personal issues with Greenlight, of which there are many and not exclusive to me. Hopefully we can enact some much needed change. But in the meantime, those problems persist and Phanta desperately needs your help to get on Steam, so please lend us your votes!
