Dumb and Fat Games
Based in Vancouver, Canada
November 18, 2013 (Paid Beta)
A randomly-generated adventure game about magical coins. You play as a lootmancer, who can unlock the hidden power inside of coins and use them in magical duels. The loots you take from chests and enemies also become your next moves, so plan carefully!
Coin Crypt went into development in May 2013. It was inspired by Dominion, Spelunky, an RPG prototype made by Terry Cavanagh, and the formative experience of playing a version of Pokemon where monsters had to be released when they fainted and all Pokemon Centers were banned. The earliest rudimentary prototypes proved to be interesting, and the developer quickly moved into an open development cycle in an effort to get ideas and feedback from players. On November 18, 2013 it transitioned into a paid beta and launched on Steam Early Access to facilitate that dialogue.
